Ang mga sumusunod na Pediatric Dentists or dentista para sa mga bata ay rekumendado ng Your Dentista. Hindi basta-basta nagrerekumenda ang Your Dentista ng mga ibang dentista na hindi namin kakilala o hindi namin alam ang credentials.
Paalala lamang: Mas mabuting i-contact o tawagan ang mga numero ng mga klinika ng mga dentistang nakalista dito bago pumunta sa mga klinika nila. Ang ilan sa mga dentista dito ay tumatanggap ng mga pasyente ngunit by appointment basis lamang. Ibig sabihin, kailangang magpa-tala o magpa-schedule muna bago pumunta sa kanilang clinic.

Saan ba yung probinsiya nyo? Baka makahanap tayo ng may training sa pediatric dentistry diyan. Kung wala talaga, OK din lang naman sa general dental practitioner. Mas mabuti ay matingnan ang bata nang mas maaga para mamonitor at maalagaan ang kanyang mga ngpin.
Kung regular na namomonitor, nalilinis ang kanyang ngipin, maiiwasan ang cavities so mas madaling mamanage ang bata kahit general dentist lang.

doc T, consult ko lang po yung kid na inayos ng dentist sa dra des dental clinic ngipin nya and naroot canal and pasta while sedated 5 years ago. Maayos naman po lahat except parang this time 8 years old na sya di pa rin nabubungi yung two front tooth nya. Worried lang po ako baka di na tumubo yung ngipin nya dahil naroot canal na ?

First and foremost, wala namang registration for pediatric dentists kasi wala ba silang board para mag-recognize kung pwede mong sabihin na “pediatric dentist” ang isang dentista. What we have are organizations which have members who practice pediatric dentistry dahil may training sila sa field na ito.
The dentists included in this lists are my personal recommendations or recommendations of my colleagues who practice pediatric dentists.
Meron din namang ibang pediatric dentists who are not included in this list pero OK naman—I just haven’t heard of them. I don’t want to recommend someone na hindi ko kilala o hindi ko alam ang background.
If you want, you can let me know a particular dentist who practice pediatric dentistry and I’ll try to ask around if OK yung dentista na yun or what his/her training is.

we feel so bad when my son (3yrs.old)accidentally knocked out one of his front tooth..nag visit ako sa isang toddlers dental clinic.and ask a pedia dentist for a fixed baby denture,though alam namin na mapapalitan naman ng permanent teeth (3-4yrs from now)yung natangal na ipin..as per pedia dentist decision namin yun.pero pede naman daw hintayin nalang yung permament teeth to erupt.(which we cant wait for it). and before he do fixed baby denture to my son,dapat daw maauz lahat ang ipin ng bby ko,which requires pasta and some root canal…since dun ididikit yung denture. and frankly speaking over all it cost too much tlga, but we’re willing to spend money for the sake of our son.we’re worried kasi baka magkaroon ng mis pronounciation later on since he was only 3 yrs old and some of his words are bulol pa tlga..and ofcourse we’re concern also sa image nia….my son’s used to have a perfect smile kasi.so we really feel so dissapointed when that accident happen. and as of now we’re havinf a big decision to make… which is okay..an oral or im&iv sedation? to do all those pasta’s and root canal…i am so confused,and scared with that kind of sedation kasi. dameng tanong sa isip ko…wala kayang side effect ang root canal sa teethe ng baby ko..safe kaya ang sedation etc?…hope you can help me here.thanks
Hehe mahal nga ang mga treatment na yan. So what I understand is, you were given an option as to whether oral or IM/IV sedation ang gagawin sa anak niyo prior to the dental procedures.
Ang oral sedation kasi, medyo groggy lang yung bata but should he feel uncomfortable with the procedure, pwede pa rin siyang magpumiglas or umiyak. It’s good only for short procedures like extractions (if yung bata e medyo takot at hindi feasible bunutan ng hindi sedated).
Kung madaming gagawin, then better opt for IM/IV sedation. Sa IM/IV sedation, conscious yung bata but he won’t be able to recall the procedure or lumikot while the procedure is going on.
May clearance na ipapa-sign sa pediatrician ng anak niyo para ma-ensure na cleared ang anak nyo to any form of sedation. If IM/IV ang gagawin, then an anesthesiologist will be present in the procedure to monitor the vitals ng bata and to administer the anesthesia.

If you’re concerne na baka ma-trauma si baby if ever tuksuhin siya ng ibang bata because of his chipped front teeth, then it’s better to have the “fixed dentures” done. Ang “fixed dentures” sa bata may be stripped off crowns lang which is different from the fixed dentures or crowns in adults.

hi, can u help me to find more affordable pedia-dental clinic, my child is 4 yrs old and mostly sa teeth nya for extraction na talaga. nag consult na kami sa pedia dentist located at mall of asia as per them, for extraction na ang 16 teeth nya then 4 fillings, and per extraction it cost 1,100 syempre under sedation na ung procedure, e sedation started at 10-20 thou pa,. at her case baka daw umabot ng 20k. willing na rin akong ipaayos ung ipin ng anak ko kaso syempre baka meron pang mas cheaper kesa sa clinic na to,. can u guys suggest or give comments what should i do?? thnx.. much appreciated. Same case kay vian with my 4yo daughter. Im from pasay near din sa makati and manila. 20k na quote for her, maybe mas mahal for my child kc lahat yata ng teeth nya for extraction na. Up to now kasi para siyang baby, nagmimilk pa sa bottle. Sana may mas cheaper pa kayo marefer. Thanks.
Kaye, kung lahat halos ng teeth ng anak mo ay for extraction na, malamang for sedation din siya. Kung ganun nga, half of the 20k quoted sa yo e sa anesthesiologist na mapupunta. Tapos ang extraction sa bata ay mas mahal kesa sa adults, let’s say around P800 to P100 per tooth. So ganun talaga ang kalalabasan sa kahit saang pediatric dentist.
Another option is to bring your child to a regular dentist, kung saan malamang e 1 or 2 teeth at a time ang pagbunot sa mga ngipin niya. Mas mahaba at medya traumatic sa bata since aware siya sa procedure ng pagbunot, unlike pag sedated siya.
Kaya naman kasi nagmamahal pag kailangan ng sedation ng bata, on top of the anesthesiologist fee, e sinasabay-sabay na lahat ng treatment na posibleng gawin sa bata habang sedated siya para sulit naman bayad niyo sa anesthesiologist.
Isa pang option ay gawing pasyente sa dental schools ang iyong anak. Yun nga lang matagal ang gamutan at subject to evaluation muna ang bata kung pasok siya sa mga requirements ng mga dental schools for pediatric patients. Subukan mong kontakin ang iba’t ibang dental schools para dito.

Haven’t heard about her or if she had any training sa pediatric dentistry. Apart from her sulit ad about her clinic at yung name niya among the 2003 dentistry board passers, wala na akong alam na info sa kanya so I don’t think I can say na recommended siya kasi hindi ko siya kilala or I haven’t heard na she’s trained to treat kids. Unless may previous patients siya na alam kung OK siya mag-treat ng kids…
@Doc T Thanks po sa urgent response sa question ko. I need to bring my son na kase to a pedia dentist ASAP. natanggal na kasi yung teeth nya sa harap nung nadapa sya then ngayon yung natirang teeth nasisira na? ayaw kase talagang tumigil nung son ko sa pagdede. I tried once(for a mo yata yun), kaso napapansin ko parang nagloloose sya ng weight hindi naman sya kase ganun magana kumain… kaya ayun napilitan ako ipabottle feed ulit pero as much as possible “twice” a day lang. tapos after nun puro water. then brush ng teeth talaga lage. pero kahit dati naman talaga lagi ko sya tinotoothbrush kaso ayun ganun pa din nasira padin kaya i need to consult na a pedia dentist kung anong pwedeng gawin sa teeth nya(sana hindi naman ganun kalaki yung gagastusin? wala bang nagbibigay ng installment??? hehe.)… nakakainis kase bakit kase hindi ko pa sya pinacheck dati pa.. haaays!!! sabe kase nung iba hayaan lang… arrgg! kaso ngyon madalas na sya nagrereklamo na masakit yung teeth nya… and btw po mas ok po ba sa PDCP compare dun sa Tooth Kingdom/Tooth Fairy ung mga pedia dentist sa mall? mas cheaper?
It will be cheaper to bring your child sa PDCP if convenient for you kasi training institution yun, unlike private clinics.

Hi Doc! My baby is 2 years and 8 months and he has been complaining about his toothache. I brought him to Little Ones last month. Findings was 9 extaction, 8 root canal and 2 pulp treatment plus cleaning with flouride – it will cost Php 48,890. For 2 two weeks hindi na nagcomplain anak ko about the pain until last night. Kaya this afternoon I’ve been searching for pedia doc. I read about certain Dr. Cherry Pinaroc. I already made an appointment before I saw your site. Kaya try ko muna sya. 🙂 In any case, would you recommend a doctor who can do all of that in a cheaper price? kahit di na kasama at pulp treatment. Thanks!

hi doc. how about po dito sa laguna area (calamba,cabuyao and nearby towns) meron po kayo marerecommend na pedia dentist. yung son ko po kasi (2 years old) may cleft palate and lip po siya pero nag underwent na po siya ng 2 operations. yung tubo ng teeth niya hindi maganda saka yung upper gums niya po hindi tulad ng sa normal, gusto ko po sana pacheck.

Abesamis Dental lang in Festival ang alam ko na pinakamalapit e. Will ask our pedo practitioners who can they recommend in Laguna.
20 months ang son ko, and nung nag-18 months sya, he had 4 front teeth extracted sa Pediatric Dental Center. Si Dra Galvan sa kanya. Okay naman dentist, kasi very patient sya sa mga tanong namin, na explain nya yung mga possible causes ng pagkasira ng teeth ng anak ko. We opted not to put him under sedation, kahit may possibility na ma-trauma, kasi mas natakot kami na i-under anesthesia sya. Two visits yung bunutan nya, and nag improve ang appetite and general heath nya after nabunutan, just as Dra. Galvan predicted. For now, scheduled sya for regular fluoride application. Medyo expensive nga pag sa pedia, compared sa adult, pero I think kasi mas risky nga at mas complicated sa mga bata ang dental procedures. Ganun pa man, mas okay na dalhin ang mga bata habang maaga pa at pede pa maagapan kesa hintayin na masira lahat ng teeth, tapos mag-lead sa mga complications pa.

Hi Doc T, Need your advice. Turning 3 yrs old na ang anak ko this September. Namamaga kasi yung nguso nya since Sunday. So dinala ko sya sa Dentist (Tuesday), ang sabi bulok na kasi ung mga ngipin nya kaya namamaga. May allergy kasi sya sa antibiotic kaya binigyan sya ng Dolan para sa pain. Kahapon nag start na syang magfever at until now. pagnakainom naman ng Dolan mawawala ung fever at hanggang ngayon no improvement sa maga. Ano ang dapat kong gawin? Taga Valenzuela kami. Asap po ba na dalhin ko sya sa pedia dentist? Naawa ako sa kanya kapag sumasakit. (philcare ang card namin)
Sorry for the late reply. Your post was Wednesday (Sept 8) and you said your child was seen by the dentist noong Tuesday. Since hindi siya nabigyan ng antibiotics, no doubt the swelling will still continue or worsen. Marami namang alternative na antibiotics if your child is allergic to a certain kind. Try to bring your child to another dentist. Not necessarily a pedia dentist lalo na’t urgent. FYI, most pediatric dentists are not accredited ng mga health cards.

Tanong ko lang po kung ilan taon sa bata tumitigil ang pagpapalit ng ngipin? 10 taon na po kasi ang anak ko may sira xa ngipin na apat at sabi sa center ay kailangan na ipasta. Maaari pa bang tubuan ulit ng ngipin xa incase na ipabunot namin ung mga sira nya ngipin? Sa magkabilang pisngi ang sira nya ng ngipin kya hirap xa kumain.
Meron pang patubo na permanent teeth pero mga premolars na iyon. Hindi ko kasi nakita ang ngipin ng anak mo so mahirap sabihin kung yung mga ngipin na gusto niyong ipabunot e may kasunod pa. Pag dala niyo sa dentista sa anak niyo, pwede niyo itanong kung may papalit pa na permanent teeth doon sa mga ipapabunot niyo at kung kelan yung paglabas ng mga ito.

Usually sa Makati ang permanent pasta ay nasa P450 pataas. Siyempre, iwasan mo yung mga nasa Makati Business Center dahil mas mahal doon ang rates.

Pwede naman bunutan. Pero tingnan din kung gaano kalala yung pagkakaputol. Baka pwede gawan ng paraan para di mawala yung tooth. If buhay pa yung ngipin (vital) then baka pwede lagyan ng strip-off crowns. Itanong mo na lang sa dentista (preferrably pediatric dentist, kasi hindi lahat ng dentista gumagawa ng strip-off crowns) kung ano pwede gawin para ma-save yung tooth.

Hi. I highly recommend Dr. Vivian Gabaldon.. Clinic nia is at Medical Arts Building sa Lourdes hospital Sta. Mesa.. Consultation is P400 lang cleaning is 600-800.. sa teeth naman ng son ko, sinabi nia na medyo mahirap nga linisin yung bagang nia bec malalim pero iisa pa lang naman ang kailangan i pasta.. sa central incissors naman nia, kailangan ng ipasta or i crown dahil medyo sira na.. anesthesiologist costs around 8-10k plus 3k sa mga kailangan nia.. she’s really nice. may story telling pa at hihintayin nia ma mood ang bata.. kahit maghintay yung next patient basta appointment time mo yun.. as with all medical procedures, may mga risks involved so hayaan ko na lang masira yung front teeth nia kesa isedate yung baby who is only 2yrs old..

Arlene, there would be discomfort lalo na pag “ginagalaw” na yung ngipin. Pero usually sa injection wala gaanong complaints ang bata because almost everyone uses topical anesthesia muna.
Pero kung lahat kamo ng ngipin ng anak mo e sira, baka mas OK na ipasedate mo yung anak mo para isang bunutan (or konting sessions lang) yung mga sirang ngipin. I don’t know if there’s a REAL pediatric dentist in Sta Cruz pero ang pinakamalapit would be in Festival Mall in Alabang

Better have you baby checked, maski consultation lang. Ang singil kasi iba-iba, depende sa pediatric dentist.
Re: sira ng ngipin ng anak mo, baka may existing butas na yung ipin niya before and lumala na lang. Mas mabilis lumaki ang sira ng ngipin sa bata kumpara sa matanda.

Aarin, mas malapit ata sa yo if dalhin mo anak mo sa PCMC. Halos pareho lang sila ng PDC sa Banawe, although I am more familiar with the people in PCMC, at saka hospital-based siya.

maraming salamat po sa pag rekomenda sa PCMC pero government po iyon and di po ako ready ipagkatiwala anak ko sa public hospital. pupunta na lang po kami sa PDC sa banawe and sa totoo po eh malapit lang din naman po iyon galing sa province. sasabihin ko n lang po dun na sa inyo ko sila narinig =). natutuwa po ako at may website po na ganito, i hope na marami pa kaung matulungan.

Aaron, nirerespeto ko ang opinyon mo regarding PCMC and it being a public hospital. But FYI, most of the the best pediatric dentistry practitioners in the country are consultants of PCMC.

hi doc, just went to little ones in megamall para pa check yung teeth ng anak ko kasi nagcocomplain na siya ng toothache, nag quote sila ng 33k, 12 fillings and 1 root canal with crown. ok naman sana yung fees pero nagulat ako sa fee ng anesthesiologist na magsesedate, 15k, ganito ba talaga ang fee ng anesth? halos kalahati nung babayaran ko sa sedation lang mapupunta, then i asked kung pwede maghanap ng sariling anesth di daw pwede.

Yung twins ko kc nagcocompliant ng masakit yung front teeth nila. dinala ko na yung mga bata sa pedia dentist sa sm bacoor kailangan daw bunutin and yung iba ipasta kaso mahal cya sa pang sedate palang 3,000 na daw per session per bata. baka meron kayong marecommend sa akin na pedia dentist sa dasmarinas area or imus area. tnx po

Yes, ok naman yung advice ng dentist para sa anak mo — that is kung pwede pa nga i-save ng RCT or pulpotomy yung mga ngipin.
Tama rin na if you opt for extraction e kailangan pa mag-space maintainer yung part na nawalan ng ngipin pero pag harap na ngipin lang ang nawala, most likely no need na for space maintainers.

Pwede ka namang magpa-check up muna. Mahirap kasi magsabi ng procedure nang hindi nakikita personally yung pasyente. Pediatric dentistry check up ranges from P500 to 1,000. Handa ka rin ng around P400 to P600 for x-ray

Pwede na siyang bunutin. Yung permanent teeth na papalit sa mga ngipin na umuuga e palabas na by 6 years old. Better if makunan ng x-ray bago bunutan para sure na kung saan nang level yung tumutubong permanent teeth.

Pwede na–for cleaning. Maski nga cleaning of gumpads (kung wala pang ipin) pwede na dalhin as 1st dental check-up. Nato-trauma lang naman ang bata kung unpleasant yung first experience niya sa dentist (i.e. masungit na dentist, painful procedure).

I tried checking his name sa roster of PDD members (pediatric dentists and general dentists with pediatric dentistry training) but he’s not there. However, yung list na yun ay incomplete so it’s not safe to assume na hindi siya pediatric dentist just because he’s not in that list.
Try to ask around especially his past patients if he’s good with kids. Also, if you get inside his clinic, look for a certificate of pediatric dentistry training (training should be at least 6 months) kasi if ever he claims he has training in pediatric dentisty, he should display his credentials in his reception area.

Tartar at 1 year old? Baka caries or bulok na part ng ngipin na yan. Patingnan mo muna sa dentista kasi hindi ko naman nakita ang anak mo.

Consultation fee ranges from P500 up. I strongly recommend bringing your child to a pediatric dentist para ma-assess ng mabuti.
Ang bata ay natural na umiiyak if you try to do something na “hindi normal” sa kanila tulad ng pagtu-toothbrush. Siyempre, hindi niya ito nakasanayang gawin pero sa katagalan ay masasanay din siya. Ang maganda ay alam mo na umiiyak siya pero hind dahil dahil inaapi mo siya. Kesa naman umiyak siya dahil sa sakit ng ipin.

hi doc, may daughter po ako 4 yrs old at ang timbang 17.2 kg.. binunot po ang 2 teeth nya sa harapan at pagkatapos tinahi po ito.. binigyan kami ng amoxicillin amoxil 100mg/ml drops po pero ang nakalagay sa reseta 1 tsp (5ml) every 8 hrs. na confused po kami kasi 4yrs old na siya pero drops pa rin ang gamot kaya tinawagan namin siya kasi 10ml lang meron sa antibiotic na iyon, ang sabi po niya 1-2 drops lang po ang ipapainom until maubos ang 10ml… .5ml po ba ang 1-2 drops? please help us po! thanks!
Hello Doc. ask ko lng po, normally magkano po ba ang root canal, filling and strip off crown for 2 yrs. & 9 month old. kapag nag undergo po ba ng sedation because of root canal, filling, etc.. ilang days/weeks po ba makaka recover ang baby ko if ever. ok lng po ba na ibyahe by plane after the treatment?

Recovery after sedation? Yung after effects of sedation e mawawala after a few hours lang. But best to travel next day na. Re: rates, depends on the pediatric dentist. Better to call the dentist’s office.

As far as I know, most HMOs don’t cover dental specialists such as Pediatric Dentists. Better call Maxicare na lang.
Hi Doc T! Today I brought my 3.9yo son to pedia dentist for 1st consultation, cleaning and fluoride treatment. Since my son is a bit hyper, he refused to have his teeth cleaned moreso the fluoride. Was also shocked to be advised that 14 (out of 20) teeth need pasta, and this procedure (plus cleaning and fluoride) would take about 3hrs thus the need for sedation.
Two things come to mind, and I hope you can help me please:
a.) what are the side effects of sedation? My son is a bit developmentally delayed and I’m afraid that this might have further effect on his condition…
b.) cost — the quote given to me are as follows: Php 12K (anes fee) + Php 8K (clinic fee) + Php 750 per tooth (multiply that by 14 teeth) = roughly Php 30K. Any chance I can have the same quality procedure done (either at PCMC or PDCP) at a lower price? How do I go about this?

Under normal circumstances, there are no long-term side effects of sedation. Short-term & immediate effects as the sedation wears off includes vomiting, nausea & disorientation. The patient often cries after the sedation simply because the child feels “weird” — the sedated state is something new and unfamiliar kasi.
Often the pediatric dentist asks for a medical clearance so I hope the dentist asked you to secure one from your son’s pedia. In the request letter, the dentist should mention the intended procedure and what kind of anesthesia he intends to use so that the pedia would know if the procedure or the anesthesia would have an effect on the medications that your son might be taking. So if your pedia thinks that there’s nothing to worry about the sedation procedure, then you’re good. Although I have isolated cases where the patient’s pedia (especially older pedias) don’t agree with the sedation procedure without due explanation. I often ask the parents pag ganun, “Then what’s the pedia’s alternative option? Let the teeth rot and have the patient suffer in pain?”
As for the cost, I don’t get the 8k clinic fee—that’s something new to me. Is that supposed to be on top of the treatment fees pa? That’s really weird. And yes, you’d have a cheaper total in PCMC and PDCP. Personally, I’m keen on recommending PCMC as I know most of the consultants there and I can vouch on their performance.
Hi Doc, thanks for the prompt and thorough reply. Noted your explanations regarding sedation effects and pre-treatment procedure. I’m relieved to hear about stellar roster / performance of PCMC dentists. The pedia dentist kanina mentioned about getting the services of pedia dentist interns (?) instead of consultants in order to further reduce cost, is this advisable?
As for consultants, would you have any specific pedia-dentist and anes in mind, or any of the consultants would be ok?
Follow up question, if you don’t mind. Is there a sound alternative option aside from sedation and doing all the treatments everything in one go? Was bouncing ideas with the pedia dentist earlier but she was gearing towards sedation & multiple treatments, considering the developmental state of my son.
Regarding the quote, yes the Php 8K clinic fee is on top of the anes and treatment fees pa. Didn’t ask the pedia dentist further na kanina about it, as the Php 30K quote is way beyond my budget and I was still in a state of shock kanina, as we were simply there supposedly just for cleaning and fluoride.
For PCMC dentists, I’m only familiar of consultants and interns from the same school I came from. Names worth mentioning are Drs Tanya Macapagal and Aaron Punzalan, for the interns currently there (as of this writing), Dr. Effie Tan, Dr. Zie Millo.
In PCMC, they have their own partner anesthesiologist.
For kids who needs a lot of dental treatment, the most practical and less traumatic way is to sedate the patient and have all treatments done in one time. Yes, it is expensive but if your budget permits, this is the best solution rather than subject your child to dental pain at an early age which would require traumatic dental procedures such as extraction.

Hello Doc, Dinala ko 4 year old son ko sa PCMC Pediatric Dentist para papastahan 2 molars nya. Kaya lang my son was diagnosed with epilepsy in 2009, nag-take s’ya ng carbamazepine for 1 year and 6 months. Since May 25, 2011 pina-stop na s’ya ng Neuro nya sa gamot dahil wala s’yang clinical seizure kaya di na kelangang i-continue ng gamot. Sabi sa’kin ng dentist kelangan s’yang i-anesthesia – local anesthesia. Gumawa sya ng request for medical clearance from a gen.pedia at neurologist. MAy mga lab test na pinapagawa sakin-like blood test na PT/PTT, CBC, Bleeding time, Clotting time. Gusto ko lang malaman kung kaylangan ba talaga ng mga ganong test e papapastahan ko lang naman ang teeth ng anak ko. Thanks,Marie
Kailangan yung clearance para may “Go signal” from the child’s doctors na walang contraindication ang gagawing dental treatment sa kondisyon at mga gamot ng bata at masiguradong walang untoward event na mangyayari during the procedure.
Maski injection kasi nakakatrigger ng seizure so anything that might be stressful to the child (i.e. dental treatment) is considered possible to induce an attack.

Hi Doc T! As earlier promised, I’d like to update you regarding our Pedia Dentist experience (refer to post beginning June 14 for our story).
Per your recommendation, we were fortunate enough to book an appointment with Dr Aaron Punzalan, a consultant in Pedia Dentistry Dept at PCMC. I love Doc Aaron! He was patient and careful enough with my hyper kid and he was thorough in explaining his alternative treatment plan to me. Since my son’s case is not severe nor is it an emergency, his approach is more of prevention (instead of the aggressive and costly treatment plan suggested by our earlier dentist)…that is, (1) to keep the very small existing cavities from getting bigger via regular check-up/cleaning/fluoride, daily brushing, no more night time milk after brushing, regular application of tooth mousse; (2) to monitor the slightly bigger cavities on my son’s 2 molars (if they do get bigger, then capping would be the next move because molars are important for chewing thus may affect nutrition if left unchecked); (3) to also monitor the small cavities on my son’s 2 front teeth (if these get bigger also, then optional lang to have them capped kasi this is more for aesthetic purposes na lang, not extremely needed for chewing).
Yun nga lang, longer yung treatment time kasi after the first cleaning and fluoride treatment (which we successfully did on our 2nd visit, yehey!), we are to come back for check-up, evaluation and another round of cleaning/fluoride after 6 months. That’s the time we’ll know if capping is necessary pa. If my son can’t keep still long enough for all 4 teeth to be capped in one sitting, then we’d have to make it into 2 sessions…or maybe 3. This is better than the sedation suggestion by our earlier dentist! =)
What’s best with Doc Aaron’s alternative treatment plan is that it’s not invasive (no needles, anesthesia needed thus no trauma) nor is it expensive. Perfect for us! I guess PCMC’s rates is less expensive than the private clinics kasi.

About my inquiry, I have 2 boys aged 4 and 3. My eldest son has been suffering from tooth ache so I opted to see a Pediatric Dentist located at Banawe. I was shocked to find out that he needs to go thru a pulp treatment/crown that needs IV sedation. I am really scared about sedation. Can you give me other advice? or maybe i can ask for a second opinion regarding my son’s case. He has been absent from school for 2weeks now. And i still can’t find a pedia dentist for 2nd opinion. Looking forward to your reply.
Baby root canal or pulp treatment is a usual procedure for teeth that cannot be filled by conventional fillings. After the treatment, the tooth needs to be restored with a stainless steel crown. A probable reason why they suggested that the procedures be done under IV sedation is that your child is too young to open his mouth long enough during the entire procedure. It would be less traumatic for your child if the treatment is carried out all at once and under sedation since he would not have any memory of the procedure and the best thing is–no pain!

I have a 6 year old son. Few weeks ago natanggal na yung isang tooth niya, upper front with minimal bleeding. Then after a few days nagsunod sunod na yung tatlong katabi ng hindi niya napapansin basta pagcheck ko na lang 4 na yung missing front teeth niya, and one sa baba. Now, tumutubo na yung dalawang teeth na natanggal. And yung isang lower tooth. Normal ba na at 6 years old talagang natatanggal na ang teeth to give way to permanent teeth or masyadong maaga? Yung cousin niya na 6 years old buo pa ang ngipin. Hindi ko pa siya napapacheck up sa dentist ever pero i’m now scouting for one para masigurado na okay ang tubo ng permanent teeth niya.
doc, my daughter who’s turning 3 by november was advised to have teeth extraction and restoration. 1st pedodontist said conscious sedation ang kelangan, 2nd one said general anesthesia will be administered. we’re talking about 4 front teeth na pudpo na as in you can only see her gums and 3 molars sa baba. i wonder which aprroach is better and less traumatic to my child. thanks!
need help very badly! my two year old son has been complaining about toothache two days now. he has fever last night and his face is swelling already. my dentist advised tempra and amox. the problem is – he vomits very easily and whenever we tried to give him any meds, he would vomit. im so frustrated already. he is crying and sleeping most of the time. please help me what should i do.
i gave him suppository paracetamol because we really cant give him any meds and his screaming because of pain. his face is really swollen.

Ung baby ko 4yrs 3mons, lahat ng ipin nya sira gawa ng na dede pa xa sa bote. We had it check sa tooth kingdom (SM north) and recommend for extraction all 20 teeth nya, the dentist told us the pro’s and con’s kung maintain pa namen ung mga ipen nya which is panget @ sira din naman lahat, may mga sumasakit na rin. so we opted for extraction na lng. Sinedate IV din xa all in all it cost us 32kphp! ang consequence lang daw is either mag sungki pag labas ng permanent teeth or ndi, we’ll never know. Ang panget lng wala n xang ipen (pero cute pa din naman hehehe), in fairness napansin ko mas magana xang kumain ngayon. di kagaya before na she can’t chew food kya mostly soup lng eat nya. stop na rin xa dede after d session. But FYI, before you done extraction lalo kung bulok na or may nana na mga teeth take muna antibiotic (as prescribe sympre). Xa kc di na pinag take (which is wrong daw sb ng doc) kc after d session nilagnat xa at naglabasan ung nana, so na confine pa tuloy xa para saksakan ng antibiotic! Thank God OK n OK na xa….sana wen she turn 6 lumabas na permanent teeth nya.

Dipende kasi e…yung iba sedation fee is already the fee for the anesthesiologist. Tapos on top pa nun yung fee for the dental treatment.

hi po! yung son ko 5yrs old and he is super hyper and with autism, we went to bulilit dental clinic dr.michelle baysa, yung son ko nag undergo ng imiv sedation kasi gusto kong matapos na in 1sitting at super lakas talaga, im glad and im very happy sa results… 6extracition, 5 root canal at crowns, pasta, lahat lahat na…. as of now very cooperative na yung son ko sa dentist and looking forward na talaga to go to dr.michelle.. she’s very friendly and na-explained niya ng mabuti sa amin yung procedure… gustung gusto ng son ko manood ng cartoons during dental…. her fee is reasonable na compare sa mga nabasa ko, we are from cainta rizal dadayo pa talaga ng stacruz manila for my son’s dental, pati nephew ko 2yrs old nag pa dental na rin under mild sedation lang so far ok naman, kaya wala nakong problem sa mga toothache na yan. i hope makatulong ako sa iba. worry -free na rin ako as a mom lalo special pa son ko. hi bienne, you can contact the bulilit dental clinic and inquire 734-7056. sa nagastos depende sa dami ng sira ipin. regular pasta lam ko 500, madalas kasi ngayon puro na lang kami cleaning and fluoride every 6months balik around 800. pwede ka naman mag pa check up muna para bigyan ka ng estimation ganun kami nung una, check up lang tapos saka kami nag decide ng husband ko kung anong type ng treatment ang gagawin. Para lang ma-guide ka rin sa pag desisyon sa tingin ko mas ok kung mapatingin mo kaagad ang son mo. Para din ma-explain sayo ni dra. kasi kami ng husband ko pina-save namin talaga para hindi mabunot. try mo pasehedule para mas malinaw din sayo. sa ngayon kasi ok na ok ako at wala na ko problema sa teeth ng anak ko. try mo lang bienne. thanks

My 11 months daughter po have blood clot po kc sa gums…currently po kc meron na syang 5 upper teeth including ung one molar then 2 lower teeth. Now sa may upper molar part ng baby ko, namamaga ung gums nya, parang bloood clot kc parang violet black ang color ng gums. May alam po ba kayong Pedia Dentist malapit dito sa Dasmarinas, Cavite? Sira na po yung molar tooth nya, is it advisable for extraction? At nabanggit din po ng dentist na kapag nabunot daw po yun kailangan daw po ng root canal. Is it true? Magkano naman po kaya magagastos namin sa procedure na yun?

My son is 2 years old. Pinacheck namin sya sa pedia dentist (from medical city) and the dr says na 20 out of 23 teeth are with cavities na. Ang tanda and intindi ko dun sa need na procedure is tatanggalin ang cavities and she will drill kagaya ng sa pasta.. my son needs to be sedated daw.. and need na daw gawin asap kc moderate to extreme na yung cavities…
Questions:
1. Im really worried about the sedation..may risk ba sya sa baby ko?
2. Sabi nila kapag na sedate is magiging malilimutin (kagaya ng na caesarean), is this true?
3. Meron po ba kami iba option para hindi ma sedate baby ko?

Doc ask ko lang po sana kasi yung 5 year old son ko po kasi sumakit ngipin nya then nung pinacheck namin sa pedia sabi is butas na daw molar nya then nagkainfection daw. so ipapacheck daw namin sa pedia dentist sa pcmc kung kailangan bunutin or lagyan ng crown. since prone daw sa infection mas maganda daw bunutin na lang. 1 week na sya di kumakain kasi parang nagkaroon na sya ng takot kumain as pag nakikita nya po na susubuan sya umiiyak na at ayaw talaga. puro milk na lang talaga sya then 3 days na po napapansin ko na every miunute naglalaway na si anak. sobrang nag aalala na po kasi talaga ako tapos safe lang po ba doc ang anesthesia for 5 years old? sa friday po kami pupunta sa pcmc kasi nakaholiday daw po mga doctor ng tumawag ako.

Hi, doc. Yung 10 months old baby ko, accidentally naputol po yung dalawang tumubo sa baba. Hindi sa totally naputol napahiga lang kasi may nakagat siya. Sa taranta ko po tinayo ko nalang sila. Nag stop Naman po Ang bleeding. After 4 days kinaumagahan Nakita ko po na parang may Nana na siya sa tabi Ng gums. Napunit po Kasi yung gums nia nung napahiga mga ngipin Niya. Delikado po ba yun doc?? Ano po dapat gawin.

Hello ppo meron po ba kayo ma erecommend na pedia dentist dito sa Butuan city. Bago lang kasi kami dito di pa namin kabisado at kailangan na magpa dentist ng 4yrs old baby ko kasi halos bulok na ngipin niya at sumasakit na daw. Pa help naman po 😢🙏😢
